Hi, I’m Jim Benson.
I’ve dedicated my life to helping men of all ages and backgrounds love themselves more fully.
For the past 20 years, I have been coaching guys to “breakthroughs in the bedroom.” My Awakened Masculine program blends best practices across disciplines to create a powerful transformative environment for men to experience more personal pleasure and relationship satisfaction.
- I’m trained as a professional coach at the Coaches Training Institute and I held the PCC (Professional Certified Coach) credential from the International Coach Federation for many years
- I have 7000 hours of individual, relationship and group coaching experience
- I’m a graduate of The Interchange Counseling program.
I’ve committed my life to helping men have breakthroughs in the bedroom
One of the reasons I’m so good at what I do — and why I can have so much empathy for guys who have sex or relationship issues — is because I spent so much of my life being completely confused about sex and relationships.
I was raised in a strict religious household in the Deep South. A late bloomer, I didn’t kiss a girl until I was in my 20s. And later that decade, when I finally found a woman I wanted to marry, she left me because I wasn’t “bringing it” in the bedroom.
After my fiancée moved out, I began an intensive period of sexual self-discovery.
I wanted to know, firsthand, if it was possible to have truly fulfilling intimacy. Over the next ten years, I studied extensively with a variety of teachers and organizations, including David Deida, The Human Awareness Institute, MORE University, and numerous individual teachers and guides. I started to apply what I was learning in my relationships with the different women I was dating or lived with.
Over time, I finally felt satisfied with myself as a sexual man.
My self-guided sexual curriculum culminated in a Skydancing Tantra teacher training, where I met the woman who brought tantra to the West, Margot Anand (author of The Art of Sexual Ecstasy). A year after my graduation, Margot and I began leading workshops together in the US and Europe.

I’m a certified SkyDancing Tantra teacher, supporting students and teachers-in-training in the US and Europe since 2003.
In previous incarnations, I wrote two books and over 50 magazine articles on the confluence of technology, art, and graphic design.
One more fun fact: I was also a world champion in two different frisbee sports
